Paint
Fairhope residents can take partial or empty cans to Fairhope Household Hazardous Waste. Other residents should dry out latex or oil-based paints by putting either shredded paper or cat litter inside the can and sealing it (or even sawdust or concrete mix for large amounts or oil-based). Then shake the contents around, open the can, and let the contents dry. Once the paint is absorbed, you can throw it away in a sealed container. For larger amounts of paint, try purchasing a tube of paint hardener.
